Aviaries for birds

Birds are very nice to take care of as pets. Some of them are friendly in the sense that they allow themselves to be handled and played with. There are also birds that are very nice to look at especially when they fly. These are the kinds of birds that are best kept in bigger ‘accommodation’. Here is a bird care guide about the housing requirement of your pet bird. This specifically deals with aviaries.

Birds can be housed in cages or aviaries. Of these two, aviaries provide for more movements for the birds. They are also good for breeding. Aviaries can either be indoor aviaries or outdoor aviaries.

An indoor aviary refers to a room in a house specifically designed for birds. In an indoor aviary, the general living condition can be controlled. The temperature can be adjusted to suit the needs of the birds. Lighting can also be manipulated.

In an indoor aviary, the birds can be allowed to freely move inside. The windows and doors are just closed in such a way that the birds will not be able to fly out. The indoor aviary can also be setup such that cages are placed inside it to hold the birds. In this case, it is not necessary to always close the windows and doors as the birds are protected within the cages.

If the indoor aviary is within your house, the downside is that the birds can be too noisy. You or even your neighbors can be disturbed by their nose.

Outdoor aviaries provide a more natural living environment for the pet birds. An outdoor aviary can be designed to simulate a forest or a farm. The downside to this is that you cannot control weather conditions. Like in the wild, the pet birds are exposed even to extreme conditions.

This bird care guide is only about the housing requirement for your pet bird. Information here is not enough for you to successfully take care of your pets. Read other bird cage guides to help you with the birds’ other needs.
